Creating Impressions On Clothing & The Best For Your T\\\’s

Designing your own attire such as T’s, are becoming very popular these days. Many artists and designers now have their own line of products which will include clothing of various kinds. However before deciding on the impression method there are some things you must consider. When getting a batch of good printed t shirts done you must always consider the following; whether a complicated design is used, is it for a bulk order or a very small quantity? As these will greatly influence the print method you will chose. In terms of the options available there are two main methods in the market at present; screen printing and (DTG) direct to garment.

Silkscreen

This is a form of printing that uses thickly applied paint or ink on a surface material. The specialty is that the inks remain on the surface of the material rather than getting soaked in to the thread. Screen printing also commonly known as silk screening has been in use for many years and it is very popular for bulk orders.

How it works

This method actually uses several screens depending on the design. It pushes the ink or the paint on to a selected fabric through the meshed screen. A stencil is used to get the paint on the surface as per the desired design. The ink once on the mesh is then pulled down by a blade or a similar mechanism which then pushes the ink on to the fabric. This is the most basic description, however same day custom design t shirts has much more technical details such as the use of inks and chemicals to look at.Because of the unique method used in creating these prints, only one ink or colour can be applied at one time, which means that multiple screens will be needed for the design that has more than one colour. The more screens you have to use the more effort you will require which will add to the final cost of the product. Therefore it is recommended to use this method if you have a simple design in one colour preferably and require a large quantity of prints such as for a sports team or a corporate event.

DTG – Direct to Garment

This method uses development in inkjet technology to directly apply ink on to the desired surface. Similarly to printing on paper but instead of paper it uses garments. The inks used in this method are specialized and developed for this specific purpose only. The designs can be directly printed on to the surface with no need of a stencil or a screen. The inks are also absorbed by the thread as opposed to the silk screening method. Since the printer uses precision methods it allows you to print many complex designs in and colour of your choice giving you a lot of freedom. This option is also good for individuals who require individual prints or limited quantities as it is far cheaper than the screen printing option. As you see both methods have unique positive and negative aspects therefore one must carefully look and select the best option available
